Our privacy promise in one sentence
For most tools, your files are processed locally in your browser and never leave your device. When server processing is required, files are encrypted in transit, processed in isolated containers, and permanently deleted within one hour.
1. Data we collect
We collect the minimum needed to operate the service: account email (if you sign up), usage analytics (page views, tool usage, error reports — anonymized), and billing data via Stripe (we never see your card number).
2. How we use your data
We use your data only to provide and improve PDF Tools. We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing. Period.
3. File processing
Most tools run entirely in your browser — files never touch our servers. For tools that require server processing (heavy OCR, batch operations over the size limit), uploads are encrypted with TLS 1.3, processed in isolated ephemeral containers, and permanently deleted within 60 minutes. No backups, no replication.
4. Digital signatures
Digital signatures use industry-standard PKI (RSA / ECDSA with X.509 certificates). Private signing keys never leave your device. The signature is embedded inside the PDF and is verifiable offline by any standard PDF reader.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies (authentication, preferences) and one optional analytics cookie. No advertising cookies. You can clear all cookies at any time from your browser settings.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, and export your data at any time. Email support@pdftools.app and we'll action your request within 7 days.
